Ricard Recio's biography :
1952 : Born in Casablanca, of Spanish family.
1958 : Moves to Barcelona.
1966 : Finishes his studies. Frequents artistic circles but doesn't want to go to academies of Art. Always self-taught.
1966 : Collaborates with two major advertising agencies of Barcelona, making paintings and illustrations. Also makes illustrations for the children magazine CavallFort.
1972 : Makes a pact with the publisher Juan Grijalbo, a collaboration for the design of books and illustrations for a publishing house during 6 years.
1975 : Lives three years with his wife and his two children in Ortedo, Pyrenees. Some of his paintings go to private collections.
1978 : Returns to L'Ametlla del Valles, near Barcelona and mounts with his wife (also a painter) a small place to sell paintings.
1980 : Contacts 8 main advertising agencies (Publicis, Bassat, Tandem, Euro, Vinizius, etc.) to sketch campaigns as free throw. Designs packagings for manufacured products and still does today.
Ricard Recio now evolves towards abstract art and finds a balance with figurative art where he finds the exit to his pictorial passion.
He made several exhibitions in Granollers and Sitges, and makes cartels for the cultural events of these cities.
Ricard Recio has designed most covers of Barcelonian sensual & poetic band Ô Paradis, as well as several records of cult band Novy Svet ! Most recently, you can also find one of his painting in the collaborative album between Nature Morte & Ô Paradis...
